AVIANCA HOLDINGS MATERIAL INFORMATION
Avianca Holdings S.A. (the Company) announces the reduction of the services offered by its local subsidiary Avianca Perú S.A. (Avianca Perú) within Perus domestic aviation market, directing its focus on international connectivity via Limas Jorge Chávez International Airport. These network changes further advance the Companys strategy which emphasizes route and network profitability by reducing underperforming flights and ensuring Aviancas network is optimized; redeploying freed capacity to meet customer demand within Aviancas key markets. Aviancas ongoing network changes are aligned to achieve the airlines commitment to strengthen its balance sheet and deliver long-term value to its shareholders.
Starting March 31, 2019, Avianca Perú will eliminate its underperforming local Trujillo, Juliaca and Puerto Maldonado routes, enhancing connectivity by capitalizing on the airlines strongest routes while maintaining its 35 weekly departures between Limas Jorge Chávez International Airport and the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport in Cusco. Customers in affected cities will still be able to access Avianca service at other regional airports or will be able to utilize service with Avianca Perús partner airlines. Avianca will maintain its international flights departing from Lima, Peru to 22 direct destinations and more than 100 connection to Europe, North, Central and South America. Daily flights between Cusco and Bogotá will also remain unaffected.
