Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR), a leading Appalachian coal producer, reported a 55 percent increase in revenues from coal sales in the fourth quarter of 2005 compared with the prior year, triggered by a 22 percent growth in coal production year-over-year and a 25 percent increase in the company’s realized price per ton.
